A native to the northern parts of Mexico, it is also called as ‘Angel Wing Cactus’. It is one of the flowering species of the Cacti family. These plants are a gardener's dream for their low maintenance needs and exotic appearance. Water could be the death of the plant, but it does need consistent moisture during its growing season.
 
These prickly beauties need medium to little care. Water the plant when the top inch of soil is dry. Allow the water to drain out of the pot and remove any excess from the saucer. During fall and winter, water lightly only every 3 to 4 weeks.
